Chicken 500 g
Pearl onions 1/2 cup
Garlic 6 pods
Green chilly 3
Curry leaves hand ful
Sunflower oil 1/2 cup
Coconut oil 1/2 cup
For chicken marination:
Rice flour 2 tbsp
Maida 2 tbsp
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Egg 1
Salt as required

Cooking instructions for making Thatukada Chicken Fry (Kerala Special):
Marinate chicken with red chilly powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt, rice flour and maida.
Add egg and mix well. Keep aside for minimum 30 mins.
Meanwhile keep pearl onions, garlic, curry leaves and green chilly ready.
Deep fry chicken in oil.
When chicken is almost cooked add whole onions, garlic and curry leaves in oil along with green chilly.
Fry them well and remove with chicken. Serve hot.
