Mushroom Poriyal
A simple mushroom poriyal for jeera rice or paneer pulao. This is a bit spicy so the rice dish can be a bland one.
Ingredients for Mushroom Poriyal:
Button Mushroom 2 packets
Onion- 2 nos finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Finely chopped coriander leaves 3 tbsp
Curry Leaves few
Oil- 3 tsp
Water 1/4 cup
Method:
Clean mushroom and chop mushroom into thin slices.
Mushroom can be finely chopped also.
Heat oil, add onions and salt.
Fry onions well and add the ginger garlic paste.
Add little water and fry well till the ginger garlic paste is well cooked.
Add red chilly powder, cumin powder, turmeric, coriander powder and fry well.
Add mushroom and add remaining water and simmer the flame.
Cover the vessel with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
Now open the lid, there will be water, let out by mushroom.
Now open cook till all water evaporates.
Add pepper and coriander leaves and mix well.
Put off the flame and transfer contents to serving bowl.
Enjoy with ghee rice or green peas pulao or jeera rice.
