Method of cooking the 3 D curry:
Soak the 3 dhall for minimum half an hour to 2 hours maximum.
Drain the soaked water and rinse with fresh water.
Add the soaked dhall, red and green chilly, cumin, ginger, garlic, turmeric to a pressure pan.
Add water, turmeric and oil.
Pressure cook for 10 whistles on a small burner high flame.
Once whistles are complete, switch off the stove and let the pressure come down.
Open the pressure cooker and check if dhall is cooked well. add salt now.
Either using a hand blender or mixer blend the ingredients for hardly 5 seconds.
A hand mixer can also be used. Please be careful as the mix is boiling hot.
I use Choice plus mixer grinder which has a very slow speed meant for cooked food mashing.
Once that is done. In a tadka pan add oil and season with mustard, onion curryleaves and red chilly.
Add the seasonings to the dhall and coriander leaves.
Mix well and serve hot with rice or roti.
