Paruppu Vada | Bengal Gram Vada
I am a big fan of snacks. I love munching them with coffee. I love paruppu vada and when my amma makes it, its even more tastier. Though I have made this a 100 times I never thought that its not on my blog. Planned it right away and made it. The clicks were taken when steaming hot and now writing this post and munching them :).
Ingredients:
Bengal Gram- 200 g
Water- for soaking
Onion-2
Green Chilly -2
Cumin | Jeera - 1 tbsp
Asofetida-1/2 tsp
Salt- as per taste
Curry leaves- few
Coriander leaves- few (optional)
Oil- for deep frying
Method:
Wash and soak bengal gram in water for 1 hour.
Drain water and grind in a mixer grinder until coarse and mashed without adding any water.
Transfer the ground bengal gram to a bowl.
Finely chop onion, curry leaves, green chillies.
Add finely chopped ingredients along with salt, asofetida and coriander leaves.
Mix well and make tiny balls and flatten them.
Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry these flattened balls.
Let the vadas become golden brown both sides.
Remove from oil and serve hot.
Enjoy with coffee. :)
