Muthira Rasam / Kollu Rasam / Horsegram rasam |
Horsegram cooked water 2 cups
Tamarind (lemon size) soaked in 1 cup warm water
Oil 1 tsp ( sesame oil preferred)
Mustard 1 tsp
Curry leaves few
Turmeric 1 tsp
Asafoetida a pinch
Coriander leaves few
Salt as required
For tomato paste:
Ripe tomatoes 2
Curry leaves 2 springs
Pepper 1 tsp
Cumin 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Red chilly 1
Garlic 6 pods

Cooking instructions for making Muthira Rasam / Kollu Rasam / Horsegram rasam:
Add all ingredients for tomato paste and add 1 tbsp cooked horsegram and grind to a smooth paste. Keep it ready.
Also keep cooked dhall water and tamarind water ready.
Fry mustard and curry leaves.
Once they are fried, add tamarind pulp water.
Add turmeric and asafoetida.
Add dhall cooked water and salt.
Let this boil well.
Once boiled, add tomato rasam paste and let it foam no need to boil.
Add coriander leaves and switch off.
Serve hot with rice, papad and poriyal.
