Meen Mulakitu Vatichathu | Fish Gravy Kerala Style
Meen Mulakittu Vatichadhu is a thick gravy with fried fish. Goes well with Mutton Biriyani (Anganan Style).
King Fish- 200 g (4 pieces)
Onion- 2 (Thin sliced)
Totamto -3 (Big ones, Roughly Chopped)
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Chilly Powder- 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
For marination:
Lemon Juice- 1 tbsp
Chilly Powder- 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Water- 2 tbsp
Method:
Clean fish well.
Marinate with salt, chilly powder, water and lemon juice and set aside for 30 minutes.
Heat a wide pan with oil.
Add onions and fry till onion is golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry well till the raw smell goes.
Add tomatoes and fry well till tomatoes get well cooked.
Add chilly powder and salt and fry well till the raw smell goes.
Add fish and simmer the flame and cover it with the onion tomato masala and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Slowly turn the fish to get the other side roasted. (Refer Video)
Serve hot with onion raitha and Mutton Biriyani- Anganan Style.
